This painting represents the gradual process of feeding and nurturing the mind through the practice of mindfulness. The journey is slow and patience is key. The skill takes time to develop. But over time, like anything you feed, grows and flourishes
"Humans spend an endless amount of time thinking, having more than 50,000 thoughts daily. In a way, individual thoughts are like traffic on a freeway. They flow through our minds; coming and going. However, as over 70% of our thoughts are negative, we often find our mind wandering down the wrong exit, fixating on a problem. A self criticizing thought. We must acknowledge the thought. Let the thought go. And divert our minds back to the smooth flow of traffic once again."
My latest series is a reflection of my short time spent in Iceland. Glaciers. Volcanos. Black sand beaches. Waterfalls. Geysers. With such diverse terrain and ever changing landscapes, it is hard not to be inspired by such beauty. In this series, I explore some of the most memorable places that I had the opportunity to visit, via my abstract lens.
